Japanese goods selling at VND 40,000 per product in Can Tho

Previously, Japanese goods were concentrated in the premium segment, but now they are everywhere so Vietnamese consumers have easy access to them.

Not only in supermarkets, shopping centers, convenience stores and traditional markets, Japanese household goods now have their own pavilions which are selling products at relatively cheap prices. This brings more opportunities for Can Tho consumers to use imported products.

Customers are shopping at Komonoya stall at Big C supermarket in Can Tho.

Japanese goods have long been popular, not only in Vietnam but also in the world, because they are both beautiful and quality. The culture and lifestyle of the Japanese and Vietnamese have many similarities, which is also a factor to make Japanese goods to be loved in Vietnam. In this market, many Japanese products are trusted, including household electrical appliances, baby products (diapers, milk, milk bottles...).

In addition to online shopping websites that specialize in selling "handle goods", many stores and supermarkets are also selling genuine imported products from “the Land of the Rising Sun”.

In the urban area of Can Tho City, there are two one-price stores selling at VND 40,000 per product: Daiso Shop at Vincom Xuan Khanh (Ninh Kieu District) and Komonoya stall at Big C supermarket (Cai Rang District). Located in the city center, near residential areas, they are attracting a large number of consumers.

At Daiso Shop, most of the products are household goods such as kitchenware, cleaning items, tree planting tools, house or office decorations, children’s toys… The tools made of materials such as plastic, porcelain, glass, steel, stainless steel...

At Big C supermarket, Komonoya stall is smaller than Daiso in size, but their goods are also diverse, from utility products in the kitchen and dining room to bedroom decorations, office products ... They are made in Japan or assembled in China, Thailand but following Japan’s standards with quality being strictly controlled.

The type of shop specializing in selling Japanese products is quite new in Can Tho, but with the price of VND 40,000 per product, it attracts more and more customers. However, some consumers still wonder about the origin of the products as many of them are labeled “Made in China”. Actually, these goods are made in China where labor costs are cheaper than those in Japan, but they are manufactured under Japanese quality standards.
