On March 21st, Mr. Nguyen Thuc Hien, Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee, held a working session with Mr. Madan Mohan Sethi, Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City, to discuss bilateral cooperation in the fields of investment, trade and tourism between Can Tho and India, preparing for the business trip to India of the delegation of Can Tho City (expected in May 2023).

The Department of Foreign Affairs of Can Tho City and Indian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh city handed over the cooperation agreement.

Addressing the event,  Mr. Nguyen Thuc Hien sent his cordial greetings to the Indian delegation, saying that India is a country with strengths in manufacturing, services, agriculture, education, industrial parks, information technology and Can Tho wants to cooperate with India on these strengths. Regarding the trip of Can Tho delegation to India, Mr. Hien hoped that the Consulate General of the Republic of India would support the city to hold the "India - Can Tho City" networking conference to connect Indian import enterprises with Can Tho local exporters of rice, aquatic products, agricultural products and processed agricultural products; to introduce and promote the city’s tourism; supporting the delegation to visit and work with the Indian Institute of Technology; connecting the city’s delegation to visit and work, exchange experiences on economic development - tourism with a suitable locality in India...

For his part, Mr. Madan Mohan Sethi thanked Can Tho leaders for the warm welcome, saying that the business trip is an opportunity for the city to actively seek the right partners. The Consulate General of the Republic of India in general and Consul General Madan Mohan Sethi in particular would make every effort to create the best conditions and support the city’s delegation to have an effective trip in India.

At the meeting, the Department of Foreign Affairs of Can Tho City and Indian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City signed a cooperation agreement to enhance the efficiency of cooperation and friendship activities between the two sides.
