 Donations from agencies, organisations, and individuals to support people affected by natural disasters and floods had totalled more than 1.06 trillion VND (over 40.46 million USD) as of 17:00 on October 21, according to the Central Relief Board under the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee.

The same day, President of the VFF Central Committee Do Van Chien received donations from several organisations, including 5 billion VND from the Ministry of Construction, 10 billion VND from the Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (VietinBank), 105 million VND from Class K15 of Hanoi Law University, and 80 million VND from Thanh Xuan Trung Primary School in Hanoi’s Thanh Xuan district.

While presenting the donation, Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh said that the ministry’s leaders, officials, and staff had organised a donation drive to share difficulties with people in disaster-hit localities, embodying the Vietnamese tradition of mutual assistance and compassion. He added that the ministry is also mobilising resources to help quickly restore storm-damaged infrastructure, ensure smooth traffic flow, and assist localities in building flood-resistant houses in the near future.

Chien affirmed that all the donations received by the Central Relief Board will be promptly and properly allocated to the right localities to help residents rebuild their lives as soon as possible.

Also on the same day, Vice President of the VFF Central Committee Ha Thi Nga received donations worth 2 billion VND from the Chinese Business Association in Vietnam, 636 million VND from the Vietnam Association of Former Teachers, 5,500 EUR from the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Westsachsen Zwickau (Germany), and 300 million VND from the TSQ Vietnam Company.
