Malaysian police are hunting seven Malaysian nationals accused of involvement in online scam syndicates operating in Cambodia by Singaporean authorities, according to Cambodia’s SBM News.
Director of Malaysia’s Criminal Investigation Department Kumar said on November 1 that police had begun to locate and arrest all seven suspects, who have been placed on a wanted list for further investigation.
The move follows Singapore police’s issuance of arrest warrants for 34 individuals, including 27 Singaporeans and seven Malaysians. The syndicate is accused of impersonating government officials to target victims in Singapore, linked to 438 scam cases involving at least 41 million SGD (31.5 million USD) in losses.
