The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has announced the temporary closure of Ca Mau Airport from 7:00 am on October 30, 2025, to 11:59 pm on October 31, 2026, to implement a major expansion and upgrade project.

The project, invested by Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), will include construction of a new runway, taxiways, a southern aircraft apron, expansion of the passenger terminal, and related auxiliary works. Once completed, the airport will be able to handle Airbus A320/A321 aircraft and equivalents.

CAAV has instructed ACV to ensure strict compliance with aviation safety, security, fire prevention, and environmental standards during construction.

Coordination with the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM) will precipitate the publication of aviation notices in accordance with regulations.

The upgraded airport is expected to create a new growth driver for the province and the Mekong Delta region, supporting economic development, cultural exchange, and national defence.
